To Marry Well

After a lifetime of poverty in 19th century Minnesota, Hattie Gooding finds herself on a train headed toward Washington territory to marry a man she’s never met. She is determined to provide a secure home for her little sister, even if it means marrying a stranger: Oren Clark, the wealthiest man in Shuksan. But when she meets Shuksan’s new sheriff on the train and sparks fly, she wonders if she’s made a terrible mistake.

Fletch Weatherford hasn’t been himself since he lost his wife in a scandalous tragedy. Hoping to start a new life, he accepts a position as sheriff of a remote town in the Pacific Northwest. When he meets Hattie, he quickly realizes he can’t picture his new life without her in it… even if it means getting on the bad side of her powerful fiancé.

When a train robbery and kidnapping go awry, Hattie and Fletch are stranded hundreds of miles from their destination. With only each other for company, they must forge through the wilderness, concealing their tracks from outlaws and their feelings from each other.

Along the way, they must solve two mysteries: Who was behind the robbery and kidnapping? And can Fletch convince Hattie to choose her heart over security?
